The online submission of applications for UGC NET will start from 1st August.

CBSE UGC NET Eligibility Criteria: All the candidates who would like to appear for UGC NET need to know the eligibility criteria details before applying online. CBSE UGC NET aspirants can apply for the exam from 1 August. It is held during December-January and June-July to select the candidates for the grant of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF). The fee can be remitted through eChallan by deposit of prescribed fees in CBSE account with Syndicate Bank, ICICI, HDFC Bank and Canara Bank.

Last week, Minister of State for HRD Mahendra Nath Pandey told Rajya Sabha that CBSE will continue to conduct the NET for post graduate students to make them eligible for assistant professorship or junior research fellowship in universities. UGC (University Grants Commission) is a statutory organisation established by the union government in 1956. Its main objective is to provide recognition to the Indian universities and provide funds to such recognised universities and colleges.

The UGC NET important dates were released by CBSE on July 24 on the official website.

The exam is conducted in streams such as Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Commerce etc.

Meanwhile, UGC has brought some changes in the qualifying criteria of the UGC NET following which only six percent of the total candidates who appear in the UGC-NET examination will be declared qualified.

CBSE UGC NET examination will take place on 19th November 2017.
