Liverpool 'feel good' over contract talks with midfielder Emre Can - Klopp

The 23-year-old enjoyed a strong campaign last year, making 40 appearances in all competitions and scoring five goals and providing three assists to help Liverpool secure Champions League qualification.

Emre Can is the final 12 months of his contract and is yet to agree a new deal with Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp is confident Emre Can will stay at Liverpool this summer.

"You can imagine we're involved in talks and we all feel good and confident in this moment", he said.

"That means they're not the worst talks but until anything is done or signed there is nothing to say".

Can's wage demands have reportedly hampered talks between the German and Liverpool, but the midfielder insisted in March that this was not the case.

Blue Jays acquire Refsnyder from Yankees for minor league prospect McBroom
The Blue Jays acquired Yankees' infielder/outfielder Rob Refsnyder for first base prospect Ryan McBroom , the teams announced Sunday.

It is likely that Can will play 45 minutes against Hertha, and can hope for more regular game time by the end of pre-season, when Liverpool face off against Athletic Bilbao in Dublin.

"Emre is certainly one of them".

Today, Tuttosport claim that Juventus have agreed on personal terms with Emre Can will submit a bid for the German midfielder this week.

It's unlikely that the Reds or Klopp will want to lose him this summer, but with Tuttosport even suggesting that Can is ready to be "Sami Khedira's heir", they seem very confident that a deal can be struck between all parties.

He returned to training at Melwood yesterday and will join up with the full squad ahead of Wednesday's flight to Munich for Liverpool's training camp.

The midfielder has been subject to contract negotiations since the beginning of the year, with an apparent dispute over wages and his wish for reassurance over his position at the club emerging as main obstacles.
