Man checks single can of beer for flight across Australia

A beer-loving Australia man made a decision to pack light on a recent flight across the country, checking in only a single can of beer as his luggage and rejoicing when it arrived, wrapped in a baggage tag, at his destination four hours later.

One Aussie bloke seemingly has his priorities in order when it comes to packing for a trip away after "checking in" a single can of beer for his flight from Melbourne to Perth.

Dean Stinson documented the stunt on Saturday after his Qantas flight landed in Western Australia.

Stinson got lucky: the can of Emu Export lager arrive unharmed on the baggage claim conveyor belt, where he documented picking it up on social media.

The Daily Mail said the scheme was concocted by a friend who works at the airport.

"There was no luggage out yet but everyone was milling around and had their phones out so I was pretty sure I knew what was going on".

"The planning stages may have definitely had a few cold ones cracked but the execution was done sober", Stinson told Unilad, a UK-based viral website. And there I was in my flanno and RMs to greet her.

Peter Ellis, of the site FlightMood, determines that it is not uncommon to see the beer fly.

The UK's Independent said: "A solitary can of lager spent the weekend making its way around an airport baggage carousel after an Australian passenger checked it in as luggage on a flight".
