Snapdragon 836 to debut with Pixel 2

For those not in the know, last year, the incremental successor of Snapdragon 820 processor, the Snapdragon 821, powered the first generation Pixel devices i.e. Google Pixel and Google Pixel XL.

This comes as hardly a surprise as Qualcomm plans to introduce the faster version of the chip and that Google wants it first.

A device called the Pixel 2 XL appeared on the GFXBench mobile benchmark database site in early June, with details indicating that the device will use Snapdragon 835. However, previous rumours have indicated that both the smartphones will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

The Democratic party is now in the minority in both houses of Congress and struggling to make political capital out of a series of recent gaffes from the Trump administration.

The source even went on to claim that the Snapdragon 836 will feature higher peak GPU and CPU clock speeds than the Snapdragon 835. The new Pixel, according to our industry friends, has a smaller chip and you can expect better quality pictures too. The chipset will be faster and will come with some battery improvements, the report further added.

The recent specs leak of Galaxy Note 8 suggests that the Snapdragon 835 processor will power the device. It is reported to feature a single camera setup at the rear panel coupled with a dual-tone flash. Google is also planning to add stereo speakers at the cost of 3.5mm headphone jack, which means it will sport USB Type-C compatible headphone slot.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 836 is a successor to the Snapdragon 835, the SoC which features in most of the flagships launched this year including OnePlus 5, HTC U11 and a variant of Samsung Galaxy S8 among others. One can also expect different storage models as well.
