Indian ODI squad to face Sri Lanka announced

Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami have been given well deserved rest.

Yuvraj Singh and wicketkeepers Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant have been omitted from India's squad for the limited-overs leg of the Sri Lanka tour.

The selectors chose to rest four frontline bowlers - Mohammed Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, Umesh Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja.

The Virat Kohli-led squad features Manish Pandey and Axar Patel, who are returning to the Indian ODI side after a year's gap, whereas Yuzvendra Chahal has also been recalled to the squad.

The ODIs will be played on August 20, 24, 27, 31 and September 3, and the T20I on September 6.
