Sony Sets 'Silver And Black' Release Date; 'Bad Boys 3' Now Unset

For those who haven't kept up with the title, Silver and Black will bring together two characters from Marvel Comics who frequently showed up in Spider-Man story arcs. Silver and Black, the Silver Sable/Black Cat superhero movie directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood, will be released in the U.S. 8 February 2019.

As for what Silver and Black will be about, some claims are floating around from fairly reputable sources, although nothing as official as Sony's official release date announcement (basically, you've reached the "rumors" half of this article). According to ThatHashtagShow, the Eastern European mercenary Silver Sable will be the actual protagonist, who's hired to track down master thief Black Cat after she stole from "the wrong people".

Gina Prince-Bythewood is directing and will also rewrite the script penned by "Thor: Ragnarok" scribe Chris Yost.

Even though Spider-Man: Homecoming was a joint production between Marvel Studios and Sony, the latter studio still has plenty of plans to make their own Spider-Man films, sans Spidey.

Heightened geopolitical tension remained a drag on global equity markets, with havens assets from the yen to gold in demand. The Swiss franc eased about 0.2 percent to 0.9658 per dollar, having surged roughly 1.1 percent on Wednesday.

The studio has also pulled Bad Boys sequel Bad Boys for Life from the schedule (it was previously set for November 9, 2018). Do you think that Sony is confident in their new spinoffs? The movie has been pushed back several times now, and it's starting to feel like a pipe dream rather than a project that will actually happen.

After acquiring the "Sicario" sequel "Soldado" from Lionsgate, Sony has now dated the pic for June 29, 2018. Benicio del Toro, Josh Brolin, and writer Taylor Sheridan return for the follow-up to the 2015 thriller.

Meanwhile, a few films have been delayed on Sony's release calendar. Alethea Jones directs the film. The film, which hopes to re-team Martin Lawrence and Will Smith, had previously been scheduled for November 9, 2018, but the release has now been pushed to an unknown date.
