Under-19 Asia Cup shifted from Bengaluru to Malaysia after PCB's objection

Under-19 Asia Cup shifted from Bengaluru to Malaysia after PCB's objection

PCB had said they fear extremists' reaction if Pakistan team played any match in India because of the current political tensions.

In a statement issued on Friday, the board said that the centrally contracted players were given permission to participate in the CPL and English county season on the condition that they would be recalled if the ICC World- XI series took place mid-September.

Next month, a World XI is due head to Pakistan for a tour as part of steps to determine if the security situation has improved sufficiently enough for other teams to tour the nation. It is worth mentioning that NA-120 by-election after judicial ouster of ex-PM Nawaz Sharif has resulted into rescheduling of World XI visit which still awaits final clearance.

After objections raised by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Asian Cricket Council (ACC) have moved the Under-19 Asia Cup that was supposed to be held in India to Malaysia.

The reigning Premier League champions will also be looking to bring in another three more players before the window closes. The former also has only 12 months remaining on his current deal and has asked for a move away from Goodison Park.

"We have invited Sri Lanka to play a few matches (in Pakistan) after their series with us and I will try to get a reply on that invitation". Amid this tight schedule, the PCB announced a National T20 Championship running from August 25 to September 10.

The Federation of International Cricketers Association (FICA) is waiting for a response from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on details of proposed security arrangements for the World XI tour next month.

Pakistan have played most of their home internationals in the United Arab Emirates since gunmen attacked a bus carrying Sri Lanka players in Lahore eight years ago, wounding six players, and killing six security staff and two civilians. It can't be held after September 17 because there is no time to both hold the series and also give coach Mickey Arthur time for training his team before the series against Sri Lanka starts on September 24.
