The Crown Season 2 is returning to Netflix this winter.

One of the best shows of the past year was the Netflix Original series The Crown, starring Claire Foy as a young Queen Elizabeth.

Season 2 hits Netflix on December 8.

The series looks like it will continue to focus on subsequent Prime Ministers (the first examined how The Queen worked with Sir Winston Churchill). Firstly, there are hints that there may be trouble in her marriage...

In Season 2, the Queen will face the Suez Crisis and handle the scandalous affair of John Profumo, the Secretary of State for War, and a teen model.

And here's some first look images...

With the revolutionary era of the Sixties approaching, the Queen's sister Princess Margaret (Vanessa Kirby) starts a flirtation with her eventual husband Antony Armstrong-Jones (Matthew Goode). The period drama left off in 1955, and Season 2 will pick up not long after. Especially, the introduction of US President John F. Kennedy (played by Dexter star Michael C. It is thought that Prince Philip will have a central role in the plot.

But when The Crown came out on Netflix in November of 2016, it offered the ideal blend of family and historical drama by focusing on the life of Queen Elizabeth II, a worldwide icon whom few can remember a time without. The Crown is nominated for an eye-popping 13 Primetime Emmys, and is a frontrunner to win Best Drama Series.
