At least four killed in British motorway crash

At least four people have died in a road crash in British south Gloucestershire M5 on Saturday afternoon, BBC reported.

South Western Ambulance Service Trust said a dozen ambulances and a critical care team were working at the scene.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary were called to the scene of the collision between J15 and J14 at around 2.30pm.

"Sadly, at least four people have died", police said.

Police said the motorway would be closed for "a considerable amount of time".

The lorry appeared to have crossed the central reservation from the Southbound carriageway, pictures from the scene showed.

Highways England stated there was six miles of traffic congested northbound of the closure, and two miles stretching southbound.

Along with other medically-trained motorists, he stopped to help an injured woman.

Emergency services were called just after 14:30 BST to junctions 15 and 14 in Gloucestershire.

Cardiologist Dr Amer Hamed was in an auto voyaging "10 to 20 seconds behind" when the crash happened. "One vehicle was completely destroyed, nearly like there was only half a auto left with what looked like somebody trapped inside".

The lorry that has crashed has hit what M5 commuters will know as a familiar landmark, a windsock next to the road.

Avon Fire & Rescue Service sent six vehicles.

Interstates England said the "early desire" is that the M5 "will stay shut in the two bearings late into tonight".
