"Congrats D'Tigers. Great performance against Senegal, good luck in the final of the AfroBasket against Tunisia".

Alex Nwora's side managed to win the first quarter of the game before surrendering to the superior firepower of the North Africans in the next two quarters and earning a draw in the final phase of the game.

Steve Vatcher described seeing "one body after another going flying up in the air, and shoes flying everywhere, and cellphones". Authorities said an investigation is underway and the evidence will be sent to the prosecutor for " possible charges ".

D'Tigers were hoping to get a second continental title and they actually started quite well; winning the first quarter 14-8 despite the vociferous fans inside the fully-packed Omnisports de Rades.

The Tunisians won the third quarter 52-40, making it very hard for D'Tigers to get back into the game.

Tunisia has emerged the champions of Africa, following their victory over Nigeria in the final of the 2017 Afrobasket championship in Tunis.

As usual, D'Tigers captain Ike Diogu tried all he could but his effort was not enough to see Nigeria retaining the title as he contributed 20 points and 10 rebounds in the defeat.

Diogu was also named the tournament's Most Valuable Player.
