Haley: 'Plenty' of military options available for dealing with North Korea

Haley: 'Plenty' of military options available for dealing with North Korea

A top US national security official says President Donald Trump will work to build business ties between the USA and other nations during the United Nations General Assembly next week.

The president will meet with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on the sidelines of the U.N. General Assembly in NY next Thursday, McMaster said.

Both of North Korea's patron nations insist that Pyongyang has legitimate grievances that should be settled through negotiations with the US and South Korea.

"What we have to do, is call on all nations, call on everyone to do everything they can", said McMaster.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) - South Korea's military says North Korea fired an unidentified missile from its capital Pyongyang in a continuation of weapons tests following its sixth and most powerful nuclear test to date on September 3.

North Korea has launched dozens of missiles under Kim Jong Un's leadership to accelerate a weapons programme created to give it the ability to target the United States with a powerful, nuclear-tipped missile.

"Trump's audience will be very aware of his mood swings", said Richard Gowan, a United Nations expert with the European Council on Foreign Relations told Politico.

"No one is going to grip and grin", Haley said. While Washington warns of military options, it says it still wants a peaceful solution.

Tropical Storm Lee forms in far Atlantic
The storm was about 500 miles south-southwest of Bermuda, packing maximum sustained winds of 70 mph, the NHC said , per Reuters. The official forecast track from the hurricane center puts Jose as a strong tropical storm Wednesday 225 miles southeast of NY .

Trump, who took office in January, will emphasize the need for states to promote peace and prosperity, while upholding sovereignty and accountability as indispensable foundations of the worldwide order, he said.

Sessions, through his chief of staff Rick Dearborn, asked Trump to testify before a Senate subcommittee against a proposed $1.2 billion loan to the United Nations to modernize its headquarters in Manhattan.

"It's about action", Haley told reporters Friday in the White House press briefing room.

On Wednesday he will hold a working lunch with African leaders and meet the heads of Jordan, Egypt and the Palestinian Authority. We are not going to stand what they are doing with our country.

Trump will also sit down with British Prime Minster Theresa May, just days after she scolded him for choosing to publicly "speculate" about the nature of an explosion on Friday that injured at least 22 people in the London Underground.

Dignitaries from 193 nations will gather September 19 for a week of speeches and sideline meetings at the annual U.N. "And I think that he will make quite an impact".

North Korea fired the intermediate-range ballistic missile over Japan that landed in the Pacific, responding to new United Nations sanctions with its furthest-ever missile flight. Executive branch agencies (and their private contractors) sometimes resist accountability to congressional paymasters-to say nothing of their ultimate principals under the U.S. Constitution, the American people.
