NFL Clears Martavis Bryant For Regular Season Practice, Games

The NFL granted the Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver permission to participate in regular season games on Friday, almost 18 months after Bryant was suspended for violating the league's substance abuse policy.

Bryant had been getting cleared to return to action in conditional steps prior to receiving full reinstatement.

Bryant, a fourth-round draft pick out of Clemson in 2014, was suspended for the entire 2016 season for multiple violations of the league policy on substance abuse.

Now that he has been cleared, Bryant will have to try hard to stay out of trouble.

It's been a long road back for Bryant but on the surface he appears to have done everything that the National Football League has asked of him.

As a result, Bryant missed the first few weeks of training camp before eventually being allowed to attend the Steelers' slate of preseason activities this summer.

In 2015-16, Bryant's last season atop the highest level, he appeared in 11 regular-season games for the Steelers en route to producing 50 receptions on 92 targets and 765 yards alongside six scores.

In the two preseason games he played in this year he caught 7 passes for 43 yards.
