Tigers held without a touchdown in 35-3 loss to Purdue

"He was very efficient", Purdue coach Jeff Brohm said.

Purdue (2-1) uses a two-quarterback system, and Elijah Sindelar started the first two games.

Beisel thought the defense had run more smoothly and more effectively in the past week and that the team would be well equipped to take on Saturday's challenge. The same can't be said of Missouri in Barry Odom's second season.

Purdue resumed its dominance in the second half, with linebacker Markus Bailey intercepting an underthrown sideline pass from Lock on the opening drive.

By all accounts, it had been a good week of practice.

Tario Fuller rushed 19 times for 90 yards and a touchdown, while Richie Worship had five carries for 13 yards and a touchdown in addition to a 1-yard touchdown reception, his only catch of the game.

Thailand's Moriya Jutanugarn watches her drive during the second round of the Evian Championship in France on Saturday. The only sisters to have won on the LPGA Tour are Annika and Charlotta Sorenstam. "I just keep trying".

Defensively, the Boilermakers dominated the Tigers all night by holding them to just a field goal on 203 yards. Late in the fourth quarter, Lock threw what appeared to be a touchdown pass to J'Mon Moore, but Purdue cornerback Kamal Hardy wrestled it away from Moore for an interception.

After a fiery, lectern-pounding postgame press conference last week, Odom was somber and subdued Saturday. Missed tackles and loose zone coverages gave Purdue ample opportunities to put points on the board, and the Boilermakers took advantage.

The Boilermakers had 13 different receivers catch a pass. Sometimes they're really hard to do when you deal in truth and fact and honesty.

Missouri, which runs its offense at one of the fastest paces in the nation, isn't interested in winning the time-of-possession battle, but this was ridiculous. On Saturday, Missouri's offense was on the field for just over 16 total minutes, leaving the anemic defense on the field for 43:43 while trying to fend off Purdue's balanced offense.

Missouri: The Tigers face Auburn at home.
