Anthony Martial happy with life at Manchester United amid Arsenal interest

Manchester United are preparing to offer Anthony Martial to Barcelona in exchange for midfielder Ivan Rakitic, according to Diario Gol. While he is still not a regular starter, the player has managed to earn the admiration of his manager, who has been quite vocal in his appreciation.

The forward has scored five goals and made six assists in all competitions for Jose Mourinho's men this term. With the kind of form he has displayed so far, the Frenchman is likely to surpass his tally for last season before the next global break in November.

He's now in a position battle with Marcus Rashford, where both young attackers are very much flourishing.

The feat is indeed quite remarkable, and shows that Martial is moving on well from the struggles of last season.

JP: Cooler temperatures are coming
We're tracking the chance for showers around the Monday time frame, but at this point it doesn't look like a deluge. A dry stretch takes over late-week and into the first part of the weekend along with much warmer air building in.

The same report states that Arsenal are pondering making a move for Martial as the north London side prepare to lose Alexis Sanchez in one of the next two transfer windows.

The German star will see his current deal expire at the end of the season and Manchester United and Inter Milan are among the club keen on him.

Gunners ace Alexis Sanchez looks nearly certain to leave the Emirates next summer for nothing, as he continues to run down his contract with the north London giants. Sanchez himself was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City this past summer.

Martial has been unable to tie down a permanent first-team role despite a string of eye-catching bench performances and a swap proposal to Barcelona could prove to be highly beneficial both for the French player and the Catalan club.
