Arby's offering limited edition venison sandwiches again October 21

And if you have never tried venison, color me highly skeptical that a fast-food sandwich is the best way to introduce you to the meat.

When Arby's made a decision to take a 2016 venison sandwich promotion national for hunting season this year, the fast-food chain faced one problem: Where to find enough venison?

And yet, when it comes game meat, Arby's is about to embark on a restaurant chain first, bringing a venison sandwich to every single Arby's outlet across America. When Arby's first launched the sandwich past year in Nashville, Tennessee, it sold out in one day. There are more than 3,300 Arby's locations in the USA but it not known how many sandwiches each location will receive. "They are expected to go quickly", the chain adds.

It's then topped with crispy onions and "a Cabernet steak sauce infused with juniper berries" and served on a "toasted specialty roll".

"The positive response to our limited offering of venison past year was so widespread and passionate that we knew we had to find a way to offer it nationwide", Arby's CMO Jim Taylor said in a statement.

It "hasn't worked, agreements violated before the ink was dry, makings fools of USA negotiators". Of the 1,150 people surveyed, only eight per cent think he's making the situation better.

In a news release, Taylor called the venison sandwich "a ideal example of the level of innovation coming from our teams and our commitment to creating experiences that guests can only get at Arby's".

Arby's will also be selling a limited-edition elk meat sandwich available in just three locations in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.

Arby's latest creation features elk steak covered in blackberry port steak sauce and crispy onions, all on a toasted roll.

"We took a look at what hunters and wild game enthusiasts love to talk about eating, and elk was something that kept popping up, and we said, 'this is another great tasting game meat we think our guests would enjoy, '" he continued. And if I or someone else at PhillyVoice are able to snag a Venison Sandwich on October 21 (not guaranteed), you can expect a follow-up review article.
