Donald Trump: US Policy on North Korea Has Failed for 25 Years

A South Korean lawmaker claims North Korean hackers stole joint U.S.

Some 235 gigabytes of military documents were taken from South Korea's Defence Integrated Data Centre in September a year ago, Democratic Party representative Rhee Cheol-hee said in radio appearances on Wednesday, citing information from unidentified South Korean defence officials.

The poll was conducted about a week after Trump intensified rhetorical exchanges with his counterpart Kim Jong Un, dubbing him "Rocket Man" and threatening in a September 19 speech at the U.N.to "totally destroy" North Korea if the U.S.is forced to defend itself and its allies. Almost two million South Koreans visited the spot over a decade, according to South Korean government figures.

The last flight by United States bombers was 17 days earlier when four US F-35B stealth fighter jets and two B-1Bs flew over the peninsula.

The South Korean defence ministry has so far refused to comment about the allegation.

A U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer assigned to the 37th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron, prepare for take-off to fly a bilateral mission with Japanese and South Korea Air Force jets in the vicinity of the Sea of Japan, from Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, October 10, 2017.

United States to Pull Out of UNESCO Over 'Anti-Israel Bias'
The magazine said the decision was aimed at saving money and to protest what the U.S believes is UNESCO's anti-Israel stance.

The briefing by his defence secretary James Mattis and top military officer General Joseph Dunford "focussed on a range of options to respond to any form of North Korean aggression or, if necessary, to prevent North Korea from threatening the United States and its allies with nuclear weapons", according to a brief statement from the White House.

South Korea can short-circuit the North's electrical grid in the event of a nuclear war by spreading chemically treated carbon graphite filaments over electric facilities.

"We reiterated our support for our collective strategy of maximum diplomatic and economic pressure on North Korea so it will be compelled to return to the negotiating table".

The call comes after the US President threatened to use military force to crush the regime, cryptically tweeting "only one thing will work". Market participants say global funds offloaded trillions of won worth of bonds late last month over the concerns. "The Korean War is still alive in the minds of many people".

The exercises came as a US nuclear-powered fast-attack submarine, the USS Tuscon, made a call in South Korea's southern port of Jinhae, the US Pacific Command said.
