Epic Games Sue Fortnite Cheaters

Epic Games Sue Fortnite Cheaters

Fortnite is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Despite the rampant use of exploits by some of the user base's morally dubious fans, the popular free-to-play mode continues to grow, as the developer has now announced that Battle Royale has surpassed more than 10 million players in just two weeks' time.

The game has reached quite an achievement since its launch, having had one million players on it.

And the battle for the best battle royale game has heated up.

The infographic shares how there has been a total of 44,494,571 hours played in Fortnite Battle Royale which is the equivalent of 1,483 college degrees that could have been earned in that same time. Let's just hope that future battle royale games won't be plagued by loot boxes. Epic Games claims they had to reverse-engineer and modify Fortnite's source code to do this, creating an unauthorized derivative work that's in violation of the Copyright Act. Of course, that will depend on how much support Epic puts into the game.

Unlike the classic Sparks song, it appears that the gaming town that Fortnite Battle Royale and PUBG inhabit is big enough for the both of them.

Bitcoin trades above $5000 for first time ever
The soaring value of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies comes despite growing warnings over a price bubble. And last month, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon called the currency a "fraud" that will "blow up".

It seems the battle royal genre is here to stay, with PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and Fortnite both seemingly coexisting with massive player numbers.

Epic Games has taken legal action against two prolific Fortnite Battle Royale cheaters.

This led Bluehole, the game's developer, to release a statement sharing their reaction to the announcement made by Epic Games.

They went on to say that after listening to the feedback from the PUBG community as well as looking through the gameplay, they are concerned that "Fortnite" might be trying to copy the experience that PUBG is known for. "He has also continued to cheat and to induce others to cheat at Fortnite".
