'In the event of a nuclear attack': Hawaii University issues ominous warning

The University of Hawaii sent an ominous email to students with the subject line "in the event of a nuclear attack", CBS affiliate KGMB reports.

In Washington, a USA official said that there had been indications that North Korea could be preparing for a missile test on or around October 10, the anniversary of the founding of the ruling Korean Workers Party and a day after the Columbus Day holiday in the United States.

The email was meant to inform the 10 UH campuses, including UH-Hilo, that in the unlikely event of a North Korea missile attack, the university will "defer to state and federal agencies", UH spokesman Dan Meisenzahl told the Tribune-Herald on Tuesday.

North Korea may fire a batch of short-range missiles next week, according to multiple reports.

The EU will introduce a ban on the sale of natural gas liquids to the DPRK and on the importation of its textiles, the Council of the EU said in a statement.

A link also was provided to the state emergency management website.
