Man United to tempt Spurs striker with €189m offer

Man United to tempt Spurs striker with €189m offer

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly told the club to sign Tottenham striker Harry Kane when the next transfer window opens.

United have targeted the 24-year-old in the past but had any approach rebuffed by Daniel Levy. Kane has scored 117 goals for club and country since 2015, including an incredible 15 strikes in the last six weeks, attracting attention from Europe's biggest clubs.

The Red Devils apparently had a £40m plus Javier Hernandez bid rejected immediately two years ago.

An Old Trafford source confirmed: "The club had asked about Kane's availability a few years back".

"They were told by Spurs there was no chance".

Sky investors back reappointment of chairman James Murdoch
The CMA is required to report to the Secretary of State with its recommendations within six months of opening the investigation. The motion to reappoint Mr Murdoch, a former chief executive of Sky, was passed with 78% of votes.

"Zlatan Ibrahimovic will move on next summer, more than likely, freeing up a load of cash they plan to use".

With Tottenham determined to hold onto Kane, and Kane seemingly happy where he is, it could certainly be argued that United are hoping that at the very least, their offer will unsettle the forward on some level and perhaps lay the groundwork for a future move. It's going to be more than Kylian Mbappe.

"If they say yes, Harry will get the chance to speak to them and I'm sure if he walks into the Bernabeu with an opportunity to sign, he'd find it very hard not to".

United landed Romelu Lukuku from Everton in the summer and Mourinho believes Kane would be the Belgian's flawless partner.

It is understood they will offer him a new contract next summer, upping his wages to around £150,000-a-week to keep him at White Hart Lane.
