Nigerian national relentlessly thrashed in Delhi alleging theft, use of drugs

Disturbing visuals of an African national being beaten up in New Delhi's Malviya Nagar area surfaced on Monday, raising concern over racism-related attacks on Africans in the country and their safety. In one clip, he is upright, tied to a lamp post and in his underwear. The man's legs were also tied with a rope while he was being assaulted.

However, the video shows the mob hitting the Nigerian man with sticks unabated even as he pleaded for mercy.

According to NDTV, the incident took place two weeks ago when the man was caught outside a local resident's house. As the locals had already registered a complaint of the theft charges, the police arrested the Nigerian man and took him into custody.
