This Real-Life Nissan GT-R Is Controlled With A PlayStation Controller

To lap one of the short circuits at Silverstone, Mardenborough jumped into the passenger seat of a helicopter and controlled the Japanese sports auto from above. On his fasted lap with the GT-R/C, he clocked a time of 1 minute, 17.47 seconds, which is impressive considering that the Silverstone single-lap record of 1 minute, 30.621 seconds was set by a fully race-prepped F1 vehicle. It's a good thing the driver knows how to play Gran Turismo Sport, I'm sure Nissan wouldn't appreciate bouncing this auto off the walls of the track. Damn right. Most of us will never have the opportunity to drive it, but we can play Gran Turismo Sport when it drops for the PS4 on October 17th in the United States, October 18th in Europe and Australia and October 19th in Japan.

It was the flawless opportunity for Jann to show off his skills after he made it to the top tier of racing after impressing in Nissan's GT Academy that takes amateur gamers and gives them a shot at real-life motorsport.

The PS4 controller was connected to a microcomputer that took the joystick inputs and sent them to the onboard systems inside the auto. Modifications for the lap included four robotic devices for operating steering, transmission, brakes, and throttle.

In total four computers and six robots were needed to make the vehicle work. The controller itself was completely unmodified connected to a microcomputer with a wireless operation control range of one kilometre.

Jann said: "This was once-in-a-lifetime, truly epic stuff".

Abbott Laboratories (ABT) Can't Burn Your Long Portfolio. Just Reaches Record High
TheStreet cut shares of Abbott Laboratories from a "b" rating to a "c+" rating in a research report on Thursday, May 18th. Over the course of the previous year ABT has set a 52-week high of $55.11 while the corresponding low set was $37.38.

Steering, acceleration, and braking were all intelligently configured, allowing for controlled application so I could really get a feel through the corners and hold it steady down the fast straights..

Now racing full-time for Nissan in Japan, Mardenborough starred in the latest round of the Super GT Championship last weekend in Thailand, qualifying on the front row and setting the fastest lap of the race.

Anyway, the Nissan GT-R /C managed to whip around Silverstone completely remotely controlled by the DualShock controller.

Nissan plans to use the vehicle to tour primary and secondary schools in the United Kingdom to promote careers in science, technology, engineering, and math.
