'White widow' British IS recruiter killed

'White widow' British IS recruiter killed

A convert to Islam from southern England, Jones was nicknamed the "White Widow" by the British press after her jihadi husband Junaid Hussain, also an IS militant, was killed by a drone in 2015.

British jihadist Sally Jones has been killed in a United States drone strike in Syria, Sky sources say.

She frequently used her young son Jojo, 12, in the terror group's propaganda videos.

The CIA told United Kingdom intelligence services that Jones was killed by a predator drone strike near the Syria-Iraq border in June, The Sun reports.

Jones, from Kent, is believed to have used her son as a human shield to prevent her being targeted from coalition drone strikes.

US intelligence chiefs were quoted as saying they could not be 100 percent certain that Jones had been killed as there was no way of recovering any DNA from the ground, but they were "confident" she was dead. Her husband, Junaid Jussain, also an IS recruiter, was reportedly killed in a drone strike in 2015.

The world's most wanted female terrorist has been linked to at least 12 terror plots after fleeing Britain to fight for Daesh in Syria.

Jones had been going under the name Umm Hussain al-Britani, and issued threats against the United Kingdom from her twitter account, urging Muslim women to launch terrorist attacks during Ramadan.

"The UK and USA military has been working closely together on a number of high-profile targets in recent months and Jones is believed to have been on that list".

Reports say she was one of the most prolific planners of terror attacks.

One of her plots, foiled by investigators, would have involved kidnapping and beheading a USA soldier.

Her husband was killed in a USA drone attack, with it reported that he left an ISIS stronghold in Raqqa without their 11-year-old child.
