Emirates looks past turmoil with huge Boeing deal

Emirates looks past turmoil with huge Boeing deal

The suites will sit three abreast across the cabin with passengers in the middle row benefitting from a virtual window which will project the view from outside against the wall in real-time.

Emirates released images of its new first class suite at the Dubai Airshow, complete with large beds, dining spaces, and virtual windows.

The Airbus sales chief, John Leahy, is expected to announce an order from Emirates for an upgraded version of the double-deck jet, the A380plus. In the other suites, binoculars are available for customers who want to explore the sky outside their windows.

The unveiling comes just under a fortnight after rival Singapore Airlines revealed new first-class suites in its superjumbos that could feature double beds.

The suites have almost four square metres of personal space and are arranged in a 1-1-1 configuration at the front of the 777s.

The new first class suites were inspired by the Mercedes-Benz S-Class, and feature "industry first" sliding doors allowing full privacy.

"This is the first time an Emirates product has been so influenced by another luxury brand, but it is a natural fit", Clark said.

These encounters are taking place after security forces conducted cordon and search operations in the state, reports CNN-News18 . Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Nowbug Kund village in Qazigund area of Kulgam this morning.

Sunday's Boeing deal comes after Emirates in 2014 canceled an agreement with Airbus for 70 long-range A350 jets after the plane maker chose to redesign parts of the airplane.

In addition to the new first class suite, the 777's business and economy class cabins will also receive brand new seats and in-flight entertainment systems.

The termination of the order for 50 A350-900s and 20 -1000s left nothing smaller than the 777-300ER on backlog - an aircraft that seats 354-428 passengers in Emirates' various configurations.

"It gives us far more in our arsenal to deal with the type segmentation of demand that we're looking at in the next decade", said Clark.

The new cabins will first launch on Emirates' Boeing 777-300 fleet on routes from Dubai to Brussels and Geneva, before being added to routes like Perth and Brisbane.
