Specifically, the Pixel 2 XL fails to detect touch near the edges of the screen, thus the devices do not perform the necessary actions. Several users have complained on Google's official forum and some have even documented it in a video.

The Google Pixel 2 is the highest scoring smartphone on DXoMark, the handset managed to score 98 and it great for both videos and photos.

Apart from the Assistant issue, some Pixel 2 XL users have reported that they are facing trouble while using the edges of the large-screen handset. The issue was first mentioned on the Pixel User Community forum and the user who first mentioned it noted that when he slid a finger across the curved edges, the screen responded as it should.

There have been multiple bugs reports in Google's PIxel 2 and Pixel 2 XL devices since their launch. This issue can be solved through a software patch.

The lack of response from tapping the screen edges is just one of the many issues that appeared upon the release of Google Pixel 2 XL.

We reached out to Google, and a spokesperson acknowledged the issue and confirmed its fix. As reported on Android Police and 9to5Google, early orders of Google Pixel Buds are now shipping. The good news is that Google has acknowledged the issue and will sort it out in a future OTA update.
