It pays to flip off Trump's motorcade

A cyclist who got fired from her job for making a rude gesture to the United States President Donald Trump's motorcade raised more than Dollars 70,000 in donations into a crowdfunding site set up.

In October, a photo of a cyclist giving US President Donald Trump the finger, as his convoy passed, went viral.

"I really wasn't going to talk about this until I remembered the fellow that I actually flagged to the company that he had written very obscene things in someone else's conversation on Facebook", Briskman told Megyn Kelly in an interview on NBC.

Juli Briskman was out cycling in Sterling, Virginia, when she made the gesture towards the USA president as his vehicle left Trump National Golf Course.

She said "no" when asked if she regrets giving Trump the finger.

It was the fourth consecutive weekend Trump has spent at his golf club.

He also frequently accused President Barack Obama of spending too much time on the golf course.

All the money raised goes directly to Briskman, he says on the site.

Last week, Ms Briskman announced she had been fired from her job at a government contractor Akima LCC where she worked in marketing and communications.

A fan named Rob Mello responded by starting the GoFundMe campaign.

"Juli Briskman is an inspiration to us all", reads the GoFundMe's description. "This week we learned that she was sacked from her employer for exercising her first amendment rights", he wrote on the page.

Ironically, she has never been much of a political activist.

She said: "I was shocked and anxious about many things: How would I pay for healthcare?" She also participated in the Woman's Day by holding up a "Not My President" sign at Central Intelligence Agency headquarters.
