Papa John's tweets apology for being 'divisive' when ripping NFL

Papa John's, which came under fire for blaming the NFL's handling of player protests for declining pizza sales, used Twitter Tuesday to apologize for the potential divisiveness of its stance.

"The NFL leadership has hurt Papa John's shareholders".

It took nearly two weeks for the company to speak on the topic again, but this time, they released a series of tweets apologizing for their actions and blaming players who were peacefully protesting police brutality and social injustices during the Anthem. It got worse for Schnatter when the far-right website The Daily Stormer declared Papa John's to be "the official pizza" of the alt-right.

For good measure, Papa John's made sure one group's views are not welcome, giving those people "the finger" in emoji form. As Kate Taylor at Business Insider points out, the pizza giant has partnered with most of the teams in the league and just signed a deal with the NFL and the Super Bowl. "That definitely was not our intention".

The pizza chain used its Twitter page Tuesday to apologize to anyone who thought talk stemming from the company's quarterly conference call almost two weeks ago was meant to be divisive. We also believe together, as Americans, we should honor our anthem.

The epicenter of DC Comcs has always revolved around Batman and Superman but that is starting to change. The flick is slated to release on November 17.

Papa John's responded: "He helped write this post - yes".

A third tweet from the company said that going forward, it will work with the National Football League and its players to "find a positive way forward", and is open to ideas from all, "except neo-nazis" - throwing in a middle finger emoji.

While Jones supported the Papa John's CEO, it's clear the company saw enough negative reaction to create an apology.

Since then, the company remained relatively quiet, saying only that they "condemn racism in all forms" and doesn't want neo-Nazis eating their pizza.
