Taylor Swift's Reputation Is Already 2017's Top-Selling Album

I say allegedly because the album is now not available to stream and I have not bought a CD in ages and if I were to buy a CD, which I wouldn't, I probably would not be out in these streets at Target copping a Taylor Swift album because people might judge me but more importantly it's not my proverbial cup of tea.

Just past the halfway point of its first week of release, Taylor Swift's sixth album, "Reputation", has surpassed the 1-million sales mark, Nielsen Music reported Tuesday.

The 27-year-old singer-songwriter's latest studio album Reputation has sold well over a million copies in its fifth day since being released on Friday (November 10), according to the latest report. The last record to do so was Adele's "25" in 2015. If we're comparing Swift and Adele, though, it's worth noting that while Reputation's first-week sales are mighty impressive, they don't even come close to the historic first week 25 had, when it earned an astounding 3.48 million equivalent album units in the week ending on November 26th, 2015.

The big sales also keep Swift's hot streak alive coming off "1989", which went on to win the Grammy for Album of the Year in 2016 and sell more than six million copies. Now, the album is tracking to be No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart December 2, with critics now generally praising the album itself.
