Tennessee State Player Expelled From School For Punching Out Coach During Game

A football player with the Tennessee State University Tigers was removed from the team-and expelled from the university-after punching one of his coaches on the sideline during an offensive play.

In video obtained by The Tennesseean, senior defensive end Latrelle Lee can be seen striking T.J. Greenstone, the program's strength and conditioning coach, twice before Greenstone falls to the ground.

Greenstone recovered somewhat from the first punch, but Lee's fist returned nearly immediately, sending the couch down to the ground.

During the time of the punches, Greenstone was reportedly walking down the sideline telling players to get back if they were toeing the line.

According to the Tennessean, Greenstone's job during games is to keep players away from the sideline to avoid getting penalized.

TSU won Saturday's game 23-20 over Southeast Missouri, and is 2-4 in Ohio Valley Conference play. "We are committed to supporting the coach who was personally affected and our concern now is with him". Coach Rod Reed kicked Lee off the team that same night.

The irony in this situation is that Lee was majoring in criminal justice.
