Ball brothers sign with agent, look to play overseas

Ball brothers sign with agent, look to play overseas

It was unlikely that LiAngelo Ball would have played much this season - he was already going to come off the bench - and LaMelo Ball is still a major question mark.

Both LiAngelo and the 16-year-old LaMelo Ball (also a UCLA verbal commit) have chose to bring on this agent and forego any collegiate eligibility, with the plan being to find a team where they can play together overseas. LaVar has proclaimed that LiAngelo will enter the 2018 NBA Draft, so transferring to another school for next season was not an option. The plan is now for both to play on the same team overseas.

It is hard for even the best NBA Draft prospects to receive significant playing time in the top overseas leagues.

Of course, LiAngelo made national news while visiting China with his now-former UCLA Bruins teammates last month. In September, Ball pulled his youngest son, LaMelo, from Chino Hills High School in California, announcing that he would be home-schooled before eventually enrolling at UCLA like LiAngelo and Lonzo, the eldest Ball son who now plays for the Los Angeles Lakers.

LiAngelo, who was a freshman at UCLA this year, is in the process of leaving the school at his father's request.

"There will be three people with them all the time", Ball said. "I'm letting Harrison handle all that, but I know there are a few teams interested".

With money not a factor and the father wanting the sons to play on the same team, it seems logical that both Balls attend UCLA, but as we know, there is nothing logical about LaVar. Lonzo Ball has always been the best prospect of the three brothers, and UCLA received a stellar freshman year from him. LaVar said his primary goal for his two sons is for them to go somewhere together where they can play and get back onto the court.
