Bengaluru: Ola cab driver holds woman passenger hostage and masturbates in auto

A woman was allegedly molested by a driver attached to cab aggregator Ola en route for her residence in Bengaluru recently. The woman, whose mobile phone battery had run out, could not alert anyone and was let go by the driver after she started banging on the windows and screamed.

The incident took place around 10:30 pm on Sunday on the Ring Road in south east Bengaluru. "We regret the unfortunate experience the customer had during her ride". I was looking out of the window when he suddenly stopped and started touching my legs. "I have informed the police inspector of my area but I have not lodged a formal complaint", she said. On Monday, the young woman received six calls from Reddy, who not only berated her for complaining to Ola about his behaviour, but also threatened to cause her harm, saying that he knew where she stayed. "Safety of customers is our priority and we will continue to extend our full support to this investigation against the said driver", Ola Spokesperson said.

Ola said in a statement on Wednesday that it had zero tolerance to such incidents and the driver had been suspended on receiving the complaint. She approached the Madiwala Police Station but decided against registering an official complaint. "After much screaming, he reluctantly stopped the vehicle, and continued standing on the road until I took a picture of him and threatened to go to the cops".

Brrrrr! Bone-chilling gales for Denver, and snow possible Thursday
Either a dusting of snow or snow showers are possible Friday and Saturday nights for parts of New Jersey, forecasters say. "A weak system may bring light snow on Thursday and help keep cool air over the area", the weather service says.

The woman also alleged that the company did not inform her of taking any action against the driver.

Now is the high time the firm owners take stringent actions against the perpetrators since this issue has now become a cause of concern and safety of passengers.
