Iran Condemns US Move to Recognize Al-Quds as Israel's Capital

The Islamic Republic of Iran has consistently emphasized that the main cause of the collapse of Middle East stability and security is the continuation of occupation and the unequivocal support of the USA government of the Zionist regime and the denial of the oppressed Palestinian people from their basic rights to the formation of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.

The statement also called on the worldwide community to pressure the United States not to go through with the embassy move or the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel's capital.

Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, on Wednesday referred to President Trump's plans to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel as a sign of "incompetence and failure".

Jerusalem (al-Quds) which hosts the first Qibla of Muslims is an inseparable part of Palestine.

Others say they can be helpful methods of payment, such as in crisis situations where national currencies have collapsed. Such currencies are not tied to a bank or government and allow users to spend money anonymously.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has always emphasized that the main causes behind destabilization and insecurity in the Middle East are continued occupation of the Palestinian lands by the Israeli regime, the US' full and all-out support for the Zionist regime, and depriving the oppressed nation of Palestine of their basic rights to establish an independent state for their own with al-Quds as its capital.

At the same gathering, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said, "Quds belongs to Islam, Muslims and the Palestinians, and there is no place for new adventurism by global oppressors", according to Mizan, the news site for the Iranian judiciary. "American government officials have said themselves that we have to start a war in the region to protect the security of the Zionist regime", Khamenei said.

During a phone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Rouhani called on Islamic states to join hands in opposing the "dangerous" move by the Trump administration.

He also hailed the Turkish president's initiative to hold an extraordinary summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul to discuss the Palestinian issue, saying Iran has accepted the invitation to attend the summit, Tasnim News Agency reported.
