Jeffrey Tambor Says He Hasn't Actually Quit 'Transparent' After All

Now that Tambor has announced he may return to Transparent after all, the fate of his character, and the show as a whole, rests on Amazon's shoulders.

Jeffrey Tambor is still the star of "Transparent" - despite his earlier remarks that he'd left the Amazon series in the wake of sexual harassment allegations against him. But according to a new article from the New York Times, no final decision has been made just yet. For instance, Mr. Tambor was widely believed to be leaving "Transparent" after he issued a statement saying, "I don't see how I can return".

ET reached out to Tambor's rep for clarification.

Playing Maura Pfefferman on Transparent has been one of the greatest privileges and creative experiences of my life.

Creator and EP Jill Soloway said she would not discuss the recent accusations against Tambor while speaking on a panel at Vulture Fest L.A.

Tambor denied both women's claims, insisting that while "I haven't always been the easiest person to work with..."

Lysette claims that when she emerged from wardrobe in a costume of a lingerie top and shorts for a scene with Tambor, he said: "My God, Trace".

The property , last valued at $30 million, includes a 7,500-square-foot house and the 13-acre Moraga Vineyards. The winery, bought by Mr Murdoch for about 30 million dollars in 2013 , has been evacuated.

In November, Van Barnes accused Tambor of groping her and making lewd comments while she was his assistant, prompting Amazon to launch an investigation.

"I am aware that a former disgruntled assistant of mine has made a private post implying that I had acted in an improper manner toward her", Tambor said in a statement obtained by Variety at the time of Barnes' allegations.

"This is no longer the job I signed up for four years ago", the Emmy victor said in a statement to Deadline. "I am deeply sorry if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being sexually aggressive or if I ever offended or hurt anyone".

"My back was against the wall in a corner as Jeffrey approached me", Ms. Lysette said in her statement on Thursday.

Tambor won two Emmy awards for his portrayal of Maura Pfefferman.

Writers are now at work on a fifth season of "Transparent", though it continues to remain unclear if Tambor would continue to star in it.
