She continued to describe Weinstein as a "tough guy" and a "brute", but she maintained that she was unaware of his true persona. "I always knew I was going to be famous, so I am totally prepared for it".

Lawrence spoke of her feelings over the Harvey Weinstein sexual allegations scandal, and said that while she has known the producer since she was 20, she did not have such an experience with him and that he was "paternal" towards her. "I'm sad by the women's stories, but I'm excited by the change that's going to come from it".
