Philippe Coutinho 'unsure over Liverpool future'

The Brazilian star, who scored a hat-trick against Spartak Moscow in the Champions League last night, was then asked by UOL about his permanence in Anfield.

He said: "I am at Liverpool and I always do my best when I have the opportunity to play, respecting the jersey and the supporters".

"When they were talking about the fee for him if Barcelona or etc were going to try and buy him, £130-£140m, the only thing you would say is 'is he going to get enough goals to warrant that?' In this form, it suggests yes".

Salah, Mane, Coutinho and Firmino have averaged a goal every 23 minutes this season when all been on the pitch this season, and will be hoping to improve that amount this forthcoming weekend against Everton in the Merseyside derby. What will happen in January, we will know it in January. "I do not know if there will be an offer", explained the Brazilian, being completely frank.

Coutinho's comments after the Spartak rout will have seriously encouraged Barcelona.

He continued: "Last summer there was a job offer in the same way that happens with any employee and I was interested in it".

I'm very happy to play alongside all these great players.

Not exactly what Liverpool fans wanted to hear - but it gets worse.

It won't be long before the January transfer window is open, and when it does, it appears that Philippe Coutinho potentially going to Barcelona will again be the dominant narrative.

According to Betway representative Alan Algar, per Odds Bible, they were inundated with bets on Coutinho's uncertain future and so made a decision to shut it down. Barcelona saw three bids rejected by Liverpool last summer, but the La Liga favourites are expected to be back for Coutinho in January.

Coutinho has shown his versatility under the management of Jurgen Klopp and has transformed into arguably one of the best playmakers in World football.
