Ruled out for rest of season with knee injury

Burnley have been dealt their second huge injury blow of the season after Robbie Brady was ruled out for a lengthy period with a patellar knee tendon injury.

Brady joined Burnley from Norwich last January and has scored four goals for the Turf Moor club, including a strike in their recent 2-1 win away to Bournemouth.

"We're very happy with the work that has been done", said Dyche.

"I have spoken to him briefly and he's fine. He's been talked through the plan of attack from now and leading to when he is fit".

"Any timescale at the moment would be too general".

"The positively aggressive way they treat them now, he'll be moving very quickly". We look forward to seeing him, first of all just moving around the training ground and getting on with it, and then obviously when he's fit.

This now officially makes the Joburg Open the only tri-sanctioned tournament in South Africa . South African Darren Fichardt is the defending champ.

Brady has just been nominated for the Premier League's Player of the Month award after helping Burnley to three wins from four games, scoring the victor in a 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

Sean Dyche has also been speaking about Brady's injury on Wednesday.

"It opens up a gap, it opens up an opportunity, and we've got a demanding group now", said Dyche. "When you have such a strong start to the season people are surprised with that".

"I'm fully expecting whoever we play to keep playing their part and add to what we're doing".

"They are a good club, they are a different club to when I left, but they are a good club". We have a laugh, so he's definitely going to be a miss.
