Already, over 11,000 DACA recipients across the country have lost their work permits and protection from deportation since the Trump Administration rescinded the program.

Love is a co-sponsor of the Recognizing America's Children (RAC) Act (H.R. 1468), which provides a pathway for DACA recipients to permanently remain in the country. Cory Booker, who called the issue one of "basic decency and morality" and last month, and said "I want solutions to protect these kids, and won't vote for a spending bill that doesn't include one".

U.S. Reps. Charlie Dent, Brian Fitzpatrick, Ryan Costello, Pat Meehan, and G.T. Thompson, all Pennsylvania Republicans, signed on to a letter dated Tuesday addressing the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, or DACA.

Sutton said that since the program's inception, 440,000 DACA recipients have bought a vehicle, 96,000 have bought a home and the 40,000 have started small businesses.

Congress is being asked to negotiate a legal remedy for DACA-eligible recipients, who, the NAE argue, contribute billions of dollars nationally.

Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights member Lawrence Benito said that "i$3 n Illinois, the futures of more than 41,000 documented people and their families are up in the air, so every day that congress delays action to protect immigrants, more people are in danger of being deported".

"My hope for the future is for everyone to understand what we have been through", Ruiz said.

Republican leaders have promised to pass some kind of immigration bill early next year. A number of Senate and House Republicans say they want a deal. "There's no emergency. The president has given us to March to address it".

An ABC News/Washington Post poll in September found that 86% of Americans support DACA, and 65% support both DACA and adding increased border security. "Chicago, our schools, our neighborhoods, our city, as it relates to what President Trump said, will be a Trump-free zone".

So I ask you Congress, when working to find a solution for me and the almost 800,000 Dreamers around the country, please don't seek their ill advice.

Poliquin said that Congress has to "find a solution to address those well-meaning, law-abiding individuals now caught in DACA status" quickly as it also moves "to update our immigration policies which reduce incentives to break the law. The House Judiciary Committee will continue to aggressively pursue the enactment of our immigration enforcement agenda so that our laws are enforced, we prevent illegal immigration, and the rule of law is restored".

GOP leadership has expressed a willingness to include protections for dreamers in the long term spending bill in exchange for enhanced border security measures. Therefore, the Armenian Council of America urges Congress to take action and immediately pass S. 1615, the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act, also known as the Dream Act.
