Trump Jr. says he talked to Hope Hicks about meeting

This is the first time that House lawmakers have questioned Trump Jr. about his interactions with the President around the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting, which the younger Trump attended after being promised dirt on Hillary Clinton's campaign and after being informed that the Russian government wanted his father to win the presidency. He said the President, according to the sources, was debating between a longer and a shorter statement while Trump and Hicks were aboard Air Force One.

Donald Trump Jr. was grilled behind closed doors in Congress Wednesday about his contacts with Russian Federation as pressure builds on his father over alleged collusion with Moscow in last year's election.

During eight hours of questioning by the House intelligence committee on Wednesday, Donald Trump Jr. acknowledged that he and his father had discussed news of his controversial 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer after the New York Times revealed the secret sitdown this summer. Veselnitskaya says Trump pressed her for written evidence of malfeasance by Clinton during the meeting.

Instead, Trump Jr. said he was speaking to White House aide Hope Hicks about how to respond to the reports.

Barclays Capital maintained the shares of FDS in report on Wednesday, September 27 with "Underweight" rating. On Friday, November 17 the stock rating was maintained by KeyBanc Capital Markets with "Overweight".

While Trump Jr. said he did not communicate directly with his father, Hicks was in regular contact with the president through the campaign as well as after the election. Trump claimed the conversation was protected because it occurred in the presence of a lawyer, Schiff said. "They stuck to their position that they were not going to share any conversations that Donald Trump Jr. had with his father about the June 9th meeting", Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., told CNN Wednesday night.

But Schiff questioned whether that was a valid reason to not tell Congress about the conversations. Democrats reject Trump's privilege claim. In my view, there is no attorney-client privilege that protects a discussion between father and son. "So, uh, we intend to persist and make sure we get answers to that question".

Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Fla., left, and Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., leave a House Intelligence Committee meeting as it breaks for a House floor vote from interviewing Donald Trump Jr., on Capitol Hill, Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, in Washington.

However, Rep. Mike Conaway, the Texas Republican leading the committee's Russian Federation investigation, did not express the same concerns as Schiff about Trump Jr.'s response. A Republican source added Trump Jr. was asked about some Trump Organization business going back decades and at times based on old news reports about his father.
