CES 2018: ASUS Announces the ROG Spotlight

Powering the device is a factory-overclocked Core i7-7820HK processor which is up to 4.3 GHz from the factory, and GeForce GTX 1080 graphics with a maximum boost clock of 1974 MHz. As a reward, League game designers have crafted champion skins named after and inspired by SKT T1 team members, but it's the first time that hardware has jumped into the mix. In a twist from conventional keyboard designs, ASUS ROG has placed a set of media controls on the top left-hand side including an aluminum volume wheel. It will be available Q1 2018 with a price announced upon launch.

Two new gaming laptops were featured by Asus ROG; the ROG Strix SKT T1 Hero Edition and the ROG G703.

The ROG G703 is available now for $3499 United States dollars.

It features water-cooling as well to keep everything cool and quiet.

Aura Sync, as the name suggests, allows you to synchronize lighting effects with other peripherals that support the tech (keyboards, mice, headsets and more - see later in this story). Pricing and availability of the ROG Spotlight are now unknown at the time of writing.

Asus' new ROG gaming PC sports an 8th-gen Intel 6-core CPU and a neat storage trick

We haven't mentioned Asus in our CES 2018 coverage so far but as usual the Taiwanese PC systems and components giant has a bountiful selection of new goodies to share in Las Vegas.

Asus ROG Strix Flare RGB mechanical gaming keyboard, on the other hand, has customisable style with individually backlit Cherry MX RGB switches. ASUS appears to have cracked the problem with cunning light-bending trickery and the ASUS ROG Bezel-free kit.

The keyboard comes with a ROG themed case, for easy transport, as well as illuminated acrylic inserts, including a blank insert which you can customize with your own logo. It features a magnetic base for secure attachment to any metal surfaces and provides 360 degrees of adjustment. The ROG Spotlight can also be teamed up with the new ROG Aura Terminal which is essentially a quad channel addressable RGB controller. This new ROG themed accessory also allows for full rotation (360°) meaning placement easy to get the right positioning for you.

This accessory lets players with multiple-monitor setups to visually eliminate the gaps where their displays connect, giving your setup the appearance of being one long, continuous monitor. This piece will be available Q2 2018 with pricing announced at launch. Using light refraction technology, the physical seams between are optically erased from your viewpoint, while enhancing gameplay.
