The former Minister C.H. Vijayshankar, who quit the BJP more than two months ago, will be joining the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G. Parameshwara in Bengaluru on January 19.

According to reports, Siddaramaiah was accompanied by several other senior party leaders from the state.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Siddaramaiah said that the Congress President was happy with the progress of the party in the state, adding that all promises made by the government in 2013 have been successfully fulfilled.

Mr Gandhi is scheduled to launch the first leg of his party's poll campaign in Karnataka on February 10-12. He is very happy that our our government has no anti-incumbency.
