The 30-share BSE index Sensex jumped 88.90 points or 0.26 per cent to a record closing high of 34,592.39, while the 50-share NSE index Nifty closed at 10,681.25, up 30.05 points or 0.28 per cent. Major Sensex gainers on Friday were: ICICI Bank, up 2.63 per cent at Rs 317.60; Maruti Suzuki, up 1.27 per cent at Rs 9,460.30; ONGC, up 1.26 per cent at Rs 200.25; HDFC, up 1.17 per cent at Rs 1,761.25; and Reliance Industries, up 1.02 per cent at Rs 946.75.

Realty fell by 1.46 per cent, FMCG 0.41 per cent, Pharma 0.32 per cent and Infra 0.09 per cent.

The BSE Midcap index was 0.61 per cent down at 18,056, while Sensex was 0.22 per cent down at 34,427 around 12.35 pm (IST). A total of 48 shares were unchanged.

The company's consolidated net profit rose 1.31% to Rs 6545 crore on 1.18% growth in net sales to Rs 30904 crore in Q3 December 2017 over Q2 September 2017. The market capitalisation of listed firms on the NSE stood at Rs 1,53,21,627.92 crore.
