Song of Norway To Trump: Fight Climate Change

The Paris agreement's central aim is to strengthen the global response to the threat of climate change by keeping the global temperature rise in this century well below 2 degree Celsius above pre-industrial levels and to pursue efforts to limit it to 1.5 degree Celsius.

The U.S. pledged to reduce its carbon emissions between 26 and 28 percent by 2025 under the agreement, and Trump has consistently said it is a "bad deal" for Washington.

"One of the great assets of Norway is a thing called water", Mr Trump said.

When he announced past year the USA withdrawal from the global pact to limit climate change, President Trump left the door open to negotiating "a fair deal" for the U.S.

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that the United States could "conceivably" return to the Paris climate accord, although he stopped short of signalling any move in that direction. But we will start to negotiate, and we will see if we can make a deal that's fair.

Trump seems to have advocated both agreement and disagreement with the Agreement within 15 words, while solidifying for all of us that he really doesn't understand the agreement.

However, it is not clear whether the U.S. has actually embarked on any attempt to renegotiate the Agreement, according to the BBC.

"The Paris accord really would have taken away our competitive edge, and we're not going to let that happen", he said.Mr Trump has claimed in the past that the agreement would cost the USA $3tn in lost GDP and 6.5 million jobs - while rival economies like China and India were treated more favourably. "I'm not going to let that happen".

In June, Trump announced his decision to withdraw the USA from the Paris agreement, making the country the only one that has pulled out of the accord.

The treaty included promises made by the United States - by Trump's predecessor Obama - but there will be no legal consequences if they are not kept.

"I feel very strongly about the environment... but we also want businesses that can compete".

She did note that green policies can lead to business opportunities, and noted that the U.S. company Tesla was selling many electric cars in Norway.
