Stones fly at Nitish convoy

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's convoy was attacked in the Nandar village of Buxar district during his Samiksha yatra on Friday. "At least two security persons sustained injuries", a senior police official was quoted as saying by DNA. The chief minister was on his way to Yadav-dominated Nandan panchayat to launch development schemes when a group of people standing near a heap of bricks outside a bamboo plantation pelted stones on his convoy.

Kumar laid the foundation stone for schemes worth Rs 168 crore in Buxar's Nandan along with another Rs 228 crore invested in over 60 schemes in Kamur district's Ahinaura village on Friday.

The news agency said that Kumar's security personnel suffered injuries in the incident.

Kumar had also witnessed anti-government slogans by some contractual workers in an earlier rally.

Inspection notices at 7-Eleven stores served by immigration officials
Authorities said at least one person was arrested after ICE conducted immigration raids at 98 convenient stores nationwide. The agents left after reviewing his father's passport, but returned again with demands for more information.

"We wanted the CM to see that none of his development work under the Saat Nischay (seven resolutions) programme had reached that part of the village - all development work has been done just to one side of the village, but policemen started chasing us away", a villager told mediapersons. "Those who are trying to mislead the people of Bihar to derail my mission would be disappointed if they looked at the ground realities", he said.

"My job is not to run the government from the state capital".

An unfazed Kumar, who went on to address a public meeting in Dumraon block, said, "Some people feel disturbed over my commitment to progress of the state". It is a fine shade.
