Dontnod's Vampyr confirmed for summer release

Now that Vampyr is nearly wrapped up, it's possible that we may begin hearing news on one or both of the other projects we know DONTNOD is currently working on, which include a new original IP and a new Life is odd game.

As seen below in episode 4 of the Dontnod Presents Vampyr series, the developer explains why video games are so much more unique when compared to other mediums used for storytelling, with the company detailing how it approaches narrative craft.

Vampyr has been releasing a series of behind the scenes videos on the run-up to its launch, each exploring a different element of the game. The news dropped within the final chapter of the Life is odd creator's webseries, which is ominously titled Stories from the Dark. You can watch the latest episode below. Konami Announces Second Beta for Metal Gear Survive
The second beta for Metal Gear Survive will begin on February 16 and will run till February 18. The beta will feature three missions, two maps, played in co-op mode for up to four players.

Narrative Director Stéphane Beauverger explained that players' actions (exploration, investigation, interactions with non-player characters, combat, and choices) are all intertwined with the narrative.

In combining gameplay and narrative, DONTNOD likens its game to theatre, creating a close relationship between actor and spectator that's more effective and powerful than any film or TV show. The technology allows for even the most subtle of facial expressions, which combined with the game's soundtrack, grisly enemies, and characters, helps bring to life the grim and atmospheric streets of 1918 London. From here, players will battle with the need to feed as well as the want to cure the sick as the Spanish Flu is spreading fast through the Victorian streets of London.
