Google announces RCS for business-to-consumer communication

They are now trying to convince businesses to get in on the action after a successful Early Access Program for the business messaging feature. Specifically, the company said America Movil, AT&T in Mexico, Celcom Axiata Berhad, Freedom Mobile, Oi, Telia Company and Telefonica joined Deutsche Telekom, Globe Telecom, Orange, Rogers Communications, Sprint and Telenor Group in a promise to offer RCS messaging through Google's Jibe RCS cloud.

Now millions of businesses, service providers, and brands use SMS to communicate with their customers, whether they're sending a bank fraud alert or package delivery notification.

RCS allows businesses to send useful, interactive messages to their customers - such as images of products that then allow the user to select those they want to purchase.

But she withdrew from the tournament thanks to the concussion here, and her on-court performance hasn't been too strong since. The New York Times reported a jury took less than an hour of deliberating before ruling in favour of Bouchard.

Over the course of the previous year, a number of new carriers in Europe and Latin American have signed on to Google's Jibe RCS cloud, including America Movil, AT&T, Celcom Axiata, Freedom Mobile, Oi, Telia and Telefonica. That platform is aimed at helping Google's telecommunications partners begin providing RCS messaging capabilities to their customers. Google's Head of RCS, Amir Sarhangi has outlined what to expect in the future for RCS. Google is working with 43 carriers and device manufacturers to enhance native messaging for all Android users. Companies from a range of businesses such as food, travel, retail and delivery services are using the program in the USA and Mexico. This means, for example, that a retailer can send lovely images of their products, rather than a text message, and even let the customer select and buy something, all without leaving the messaging app.

One of the most beneficial use cases of the new standard has been RCS business messaging, also known as business-to-consumer messages.

Sarhangi noted that RCS messaging would enable companies to provide "upgraded" experiences to customers who have already opted in to receiving messages from businesses. Google is also now working with Telcel to bring the service to companies in Mexico such as DHL Mexico.
