Instagram Testing Screenshot Alerts

Instagram Testing Screenshot Alerts

As you know, the popular Stories feature on all most all every social media that supports it has a short span of life. Instagram is testing the Screenshot Alert for stories.

Instagram is now testing a feature that identifies users who take screenshots of public Instagram Stories.

Following Snapchat's lead, Instagram may also notify users when someone takes a screenshot of their Stories.

The users who are included in the testing phase are getting a warning alert that if next time they take a screenshot or screen recording of their friend's story that friend would be notified. Where a new camera shutter logo present next to anyone, means that the person had taken a screenshot/screenvideo of the story. Tests like this are usually done to see how users react to a feature such as this, so if the overwhelming response to this rollout is negative, the chances are good that Instagram will probably backpedal on this decision.

Surprisingly, user who have put the original post won't be shown any alert when somebody takes a screenshot.

The previous meetings came after rounds of global talks aimed at eliminating the North's nuclear program, which eventually failed. South and North Korea technically remain at war, since the Korean War ended with an armistice, not a peace treaty.

Acknowledging the test, Instagram told the publication that the service is always testing ways to improve user experience on the platform and make it easier to share any moment with people who matter to you.

If your smartphone is set to Aeroplane Mode when you take the screenshot, you'll be able to bypass the warning. Anybody could take the screenshot of someone's photo or story without notifying the creator of the post or story.

If this feature is launched, then it would align Instagram with Snapchat in terms of how both platforms deal with screenshots.

Notably, Instagram introduced a similar screenshot feature back in 2016 that provided notification when someone took a screenshot of a private direct message.
