Meek Mill arresting officer on list of police suspected of being tainted

Meek Mill's legal team continues to churn out proof of conduct they hope will lead to the rapper's freedom. Since then, he has had numerous issues with parole violations, the most recent of which landed him in state prison for 2-4 years last November, sparking protests and other showings of support while his attorneys have sought to appeal the ruling.

Their latest attempt centres on Officer Reginald V. Graham, who arrested the rapper in 2007 on gun and drug charges and later testified against him in court. According to Gibson, Mill never pointed a gun at Graham or anyone else and Graham only claimed that Mill did so once he was in custody.

According to the Inquirer story, Graham, who retired from the force a year ago, testified at Meek's 2008 trial that he had watched Meek sell what was later determined to be crack.

In addition to referencing the Inquirer's report, Meek's lawyers cited sworn affidavits from two former Philadelphia police officers who question Graham's credibility.

It is important now, together, to look forward". "They welcomed him with a good feeling, now it's important to move on".

In one, Jerold Gibson stated he was present at Mill's 2007 arrest and contradicted several material facts from Graham's testimony at trial. The hip-hop veteran has come forward with his reaction to a headline about a local former cop claiming an officer lied to get protégé Meek Mill behind bars.

"The news of this secret list, which includes the only officer to testify under oath against Meek Mill, is troubling but not surprising because we knew all along that the information officer Graham gave in court was false", Mill's attorney Joe Tacopina told the New York Post's gossip column Page Six.

Mill's team points to a Philadelphia Inquirer report that names Graham among a list of corrupt police officers with a history of lying, abuse and racial bias. The report claims Graham frequently stole money during arrests and beat up suspects.
