Metroid Prime 4 is reportedly being developed by Bandai Namco

Rumors have been flying around naming Bandai Namco as the developer behind the newest Metroid adventure, and now Eurogamer is reporting that "multiple sources" have confirmed this information as accurate.

The Eurogamer report also mentions that development for Metroid Prime 4 is still in its early days, and that its release shouldn't be expected anytime this year. No more details have been added though, so there's no clue on the status of the project, let alone a potential launch date.

Metroid Prime 4 was announced with little more than a logo at E3 2017, surprising fans after years of hoping and praying that Nintendo would continue the series that radically shook up what the Metroid series was.

Since the announcement of this project, Nintendo has confirmed that Retro Studios will not be handling the development of this new Metroid title. This was all lumped together in the post that outlined the first-person shooter that we now know to be Metroid Prime 4.

Volkswagen launches flagship Arteon sedan at Chicago Auto Show
Positioned as a new brand halo, the Arteon offers the interior space of a midsize sedan, but with premium coupe-like looks. The upscale sports sedan replaces the European-styled CC sedan as the new flagship sedan for the brand.

The post has since been removed, but one Bandai Namco Singapore employee, a "Lead Designer", had this as part of his recent work lineup: "Ridge Racer 8 (Drift-based High Speed Car Racing Exclusive to the Nintendo Switch)". If you had to choose a development studio to do this game, who would you choose?

Namco is, of course, no stranger to working with Nintendo on the latter's biggest franchises. The developers were the ones behind Super Smash Bros. for 3DS and Wii U and Pokken Tournament and Pokken Tournament DX for Wii U and Nintendo Switch.

When contacted, a Nintendo spokesperson told Eurogamer it did not comment on rumour or speculation.
