Pak NAB requests Interior Ministry for travel ban on Nawaz, Maryam

The copies of two NAB supplementary references were handed over to Nawaz Sharif.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Wednesday filed the supplementary references in Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Flagship Investment cases against deposed prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his sons, while requesting the Interior Ministry to place the names of Nawaz, his daughter Maryam and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar on the Exit Control List (ECL).

Earlier, it was reported, based on sources, that NAB Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has approved the filing of references.

During the hearing, Justice Mohammad Bashir read out the verdict and dismissed the petition, seeking exemption for two weeks from February 19 to meet Kulsoom Nawaz, who is undergoing medical treatment in London.

The accountability court hearing corruption references against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his family rejected on Thursday their request to be exempted from appearance.

RBC Capital Markets maintained Citigroup Inc. (NYSE:EMR) has "Market Perform" rating given on Wednesday, August 5 by Cowen & Co. Beta value of the stock is marked at -0.15. (NASDAQ:TSLA) earned "Overweight" rating by Morgan Stanley on Tuesday, October 6.

Nawaz and his son are accused in all three cases, while Maryam and Safdar are named in the London properties case.

Wednesday wrote to interior ministry to include names of former Premier Nawaz Sharif in the Exit Control List (ECL).

The references pertain to the Al-Azizia Steel Mills and Hill Metal Establishment, offshore companies including Flagship Investment Ltd, and Avenfield properties of London.

However, it remains to be seen whether Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal directs his ministry to place his party chief Nawaz Sharif on the ECL.

Mr Sharif and his family members are being tried in accountability court for alleged corruption. The former information minister said that the ruling PML-N brought back politicians who deemed of themselves above courts' orders and allegedly escaped accountability. The NAB move is part of the pressure tactics used against the Sharif family by different circles so that the former premier gives up his present aggressive campaign.
