The 'Call Of Duty' Movie May Land The Director Of 'Sicario 2'

The 'Call Of Duty' Movie May Land The Director Of 'Sicario 2'

Previously, Activision Blizzard Studios has confirmed that it plans for the Call of Duty movie to spawn a franchise similar to that of Marvel's Cinematic Universe, that would potentially include movies that are inspired from Black Ops and Modern Warfare.

As for the movie's storyline, Kieran Fitzgerald, who won a Satellite award for his adaptation of the biographical material behind 2016 spy thriller "Snowden", and co-wrote Western "The Homesman" with its star and director Tommy Lee Jones, wrote the "Call of Duty" project's treatment.

Sollima will deliver the highly anticipated follow-up to Sicario later this year, with Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin returning to their roles from the first movie. It shouldn't come as a surprise that there's a Call of Duty movie in the works, something that will be limited to 24FPS.

Major League Baseball free agency rumors: More dots connecting Jake Arrieta to Phillies
Don't just gloss over those numbers, please, because they have the 6-5, 220-pound righthander on the verge of baseball history. If Arrieta's market continues to sink, maybe something in the range of a three-year, $80M deal could work with the Phillies.

What we do know about the Call Of Duty adaptation is that Blizzard Activision presidents Stacey Sher and Nick van Dyk are producing the film alongside Activision Blizzard's Bobby Kotick.

"We have plotted out many years..."

The news of the possibility of Stefano Sollima taking on the Call of Duty movie is huge, and it looks as if the ball is starting to get rolling for the project. It's also worth remembering that so many planned films based on video games amount to nothing (where's that Halo movie?), so don't hold your breath. "We put together this group of writers to talk about where we were going. And then maybe something that is more of a hybrid, where you are looking at private, covert operations, while a public operation is going on". "It's a much broader and inclusive, global in scope ... a big, tentpole, Marvel-esque movie". Activision didn't have any comment on whether they've made any traction with Sollima, but considering their experience in military-based action, it seems like an ideal fit. The Call of Duty film is in an early stage of moving forward, but it is definitely progressing.
