Captain Toad is coming to Switch and 3DS

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker has followed a unique path to launch, having originally been conceived as a mini-game as a part of Super Mario 3D World before it received its own Wii U exclusive title in 2014. Of course, we can't rule out the possibility that this version of the game will ultimately feature some content that just wasn't shown off during this particular stream. Captain Toad can't jump through, which can make some levels tricky to traverse. While the 3DS version has no release date yet, the Switch version will be coming July 13 (same as Octopath).

The new versions of the game will have Super Mario Odyssey levels added and Toad could be seen floating into New Donk City in the footage.

In any case, both versions of Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker will be available starting on July 13th. The 3DS version will naturally have 3DS visuals and make use of the bottom touchscreen. The Nintendo Switch version supports 2-player cooperative play by sharing a pair of Joy-Cons, with one player controlling Captain Toad and the other providing support.
